She will show and explain you how to take pictures of the Northern lights — there is a high probability to see this unique natural phenomenon at the Putorana plateau exactly at this time.
Itinerary
The journey starts in Norilsk, where you should travel to on your own. We are ready to help with the tickets purchasing. If necessary, leave a comment in the application.
Day 1 Arrival in Norilsk
In the morning you will be met at Norilsk airport and taken to the cafe for breakfast (extra charge). On the way to the pier you will stop at a shop where you can buy the necessary equipment, food or drinks. At 12:30 pm you will start a boat trip to Lake Lama.
The way lies along the Norilskaya and Talaya rivers, as well as Lake Melkoe. Upon arrival at Lake Lama, you will stay at the tourist base, have lunch and get some rest.
Further you will go hiking to the Kamenny Peninsula. To the starting point of the route you will get with a boat. Upon your arrival at the peninsula, you will start hiking to a waterfall on the Vitaminka river. It is located in a valley between Pavel and Elena mountains. The tops got these names in the Soviet years: that times, there were two camps — one for boys, another one for girls (8 km on a boat, 8 km on foot).
In the evening you will return to the base, have dinner and go to the sauna.
Day 2 A helicopter excursion or fishing on the Kygam river
If you have booked a helicopter excursion, after breakfast you will have a flight to the Putorana Nature Reserve. Flying over deep canyons and picturesque waterfalls is waiting for you in this journey.
If you haven’t booked a helicopter excursion, today after breakfast you will have an ethnic program. You will take part in a traditional ceremony in a chum, which will be held by a local shaman from the native peoples of Taimyr. After that you will participate in a master class on creating a national souvenir from the horns of wild reindeer.
For lunch, the whole group will gather at the base, and then go to the river Kygam to fish for grayling. In the evening you will return to the base and have dinner. If you want you can go to the sauna or or relax in a font with warm water outside.
Day 3 Hiking along the mountain river
You will cross the lake and will come to the mouth of the Nikita-Yuryakh river. Here you will make a fire and cook meal for lunch. Then you will start a hiking route to the waterfalls with the experienced guides.
After the end of the route you will return to the camp and have lunch. Also it will be possible to fish in the river.
In the evening you will return to the base, have dinner, relax and go to sauna. After that you will gather in the chum, where you will continue to learn about the culture of the indigenous people of Taymyr.
Day 4 Climbing the Festivalnaya mount
This day you will have an easy ascent to the Festivalnaya mountain, which is located on the Kamennyi Peninsula. The top of the mountain offers amazing views of the Putorana Plateau, Lake Lama and Lake Kapchuk.
On route you will have a stop for lunch. For dinner you will come back to the base. In the evening you will have free time. If desired, you can go fishing or choose aquabiking or water skiing.
Day 5 Hiking route to the top of the plateau
Today you will have the most difficult hiking route to the top of the plateau. After breakfast you will take a boat to the foot of Yuzhnaya mount. From here you will go first to the waterfall, then you will pass along the mountain gorge, where the snow does not melt for a year.
Climbing to the top, you will admire the magnificent views of the endless Putorana plateau. Returning to the base, you will have dinner and relax in the bathhouse.
Day 6 Route to the Southern Nerelah waterfall
Today you will visit one of the most beautiful waterfalls of these places, located on the Southern Nerelah river. You will have lunch on cliffs here and return to the base. You will have grilled meat and fish for dinner, and after that will participate in the ceremony called "the conqueror of the plateau".
Day 7 A city tour in Norilsk
After breakfast you will take a boat back to Norilsk. At the city pier you will be met and taken to the hotel, where you will have a rest. Further a city tour of Norilsk is waiting for you. In the evening you will have dinner (extra charge).
Day 8 Departure
Today you will be taken to the airport of Norilsk to depart home.
Accommodation during the trip
During the journey, you will spend 6 nights in "Firebird Farmstead" tourist base. It is located on the shore of Lake Lama. There is a two-storey wooden house and two smaller wooden houses. A toilet is located outside. On the first floor of the big house there is a living room with a fireplace, a kitchen, a lounge with a TV and a game console. On the second floor there are two bedrooms with double beds, a TV, a sofa and an extended enclosed balcony with panoramic windows.
In every smaller house there are two bunk beds for four people. There is a spacious sauna, a heated Finnish font and a barbecue garden-house on the territory of the camp.
The last night of the journey you will spend in Norilsk Hotel 3* situated in the city center. In a standard double/twin room there is a bathroom, comfortable furniture, a TV and the Internet. There is sauna, gym and snooker in the hotel.

The cost of the tour includes three meals per day during your stay in a recreation camp. While staying in Norilsk at day 7, participants pay for lunches and dinners by themselves.
