Primordial nature of the Russian Lapland, acquaintance with the traditions of the peoples of the Russian North and fascinating snowmobile routes to the Khibiny mountains and to the Lovozero tundra — these are the main highlights of this journey to the Kola peninsula.
This tour is well suited for those who have no experience in snowmobiling. The program includes simple snowmobile routes through the passes, as well as meeting with reindeers and Siberian huskies and acquaintance with Sami traditions.

Itinerary
The journey begins in Apatity or Kirovsk, where you should get to on your own by train or by plane. We recommend trains № 016A or № 092 arriving in Apatity on the first day of the program. At 9 am you will be met at the railway station. When buying return tickets, choose trains № 015A and №091 with departure time after 8 pm.
If you prefer a plane, you need to arrive in Kirovsk on the eve of the start of the tour and spend the night in a hotel (extra charge). You will be picked up from your hotel in the morning. We are ready to help with the purchase of tickets, if necessary, leave a comment in the application.

Day 1 Snowmobiling to the Lake Lovozero
You will be met at the Apatity railway station or the airport and will be taken to the snowmobile camp in Kirovsk. You will stop en route at a cafe to have breakfast.
Then you will be provided with gear and trained to operate a snowmobile, after that you will start the journey. You will overcome the Umbozersky pass and see Lake Umbozero. Then continue snowmobiling to Lake Lovozero, which will be the end point of the route today. You will stay in the guest house, have dinner and relax.
The day route length is about 130 kilometers by snowmobiles.
Day 2 Reindeer sleigh rides and dog sledding
After breakfast you will ride a snowmobile to the private ethnographic complex, located in the vicinity of Lovozero village. Here you will meet reindeer and Siberian huskies, and then will then will ride a dog sledge and a reindeer team across the winter forest. On the route you will have a picnic with a hot tea.
Then you will visit Lake Seidozero — the Sami sacred lake. Some people believe, that the ancient Hyperborean civilization was located here. You will have a circular snowmobile route across the ice of the lake and will visit the rock Kuiva. In Sami mythology, it was the name of the fearsome giant that lives in the Lovozero tundra. Due to his misdeeds, he was turned to stone by the Sami gods. You will try ice-fishing on the lake and then will return to the guest house. In the evening you will have dinner and visit traditional Russian banya.

Day 3 The vastness of the Khibiny mountains
In the morning you will have breakfast and ride a snowmobile toward the Khibiny Mountains. The return route to Kirovsk will be different. If possible, you will climb one of the peaks of the Lovozero Tundras, the 950-meter Mount Mannepakh. It offers the great views of Lake Umbozero and the Khibiny Mountians.
Moving toward Kirovsk you will overcome the Partomchorr Pass. Upon arrival in the town, you will have dinner in the cafe and then go to the airport or railway station.
The day route length is about 150 kilometers by snowmobiles.
Accommodation during the trip
You will stay at the "Yulinskaya Salma" guest house, located on the bank of Lake Lovozero. This is a big, clean and comfortable guest house that offers friendly staff, delicious homemade food and an excellent sauna. You will be accommodated in heated rooms for 2-3 people. Each room has two or three single beds, chests of drawers for personal items, clothes hangers, a table with chairs. The toilet and the shower are located on the floor. There are a Russian banya and a gazebo with a fireplace on the territory.
Common questions
An instructor will accompany the group. He will lay a snowmobile track.
The snowmobiling is allowed to persons from 18 years old. The route is optimal for people who first ride a snowmobile. The daily route length is about 80-150 km.
Ordinary glasses are not allowed — they immediately sweat and freeze. If you have poor eyesight, please use contact lenses or special ski goggles with diopters.
Children over 12 years old can participate in the tour as passengers.
Meals in the cafe and in the guest house on Lake Lovozero are included in the tour price. Also you will have a snack on the daily routes. During the trip you will taste the national Sami cuisine, fish, venison and local vegetables.

The weather on the Kola Peninsula is unstable and quite extreme. There is a high probability of sudden temperature changes from 0°C to -30°C, also there may be strong winds and blizzards.
