Ski holidays in Kamchatka

In contrast to the usual off-trail skiing, heli-skiing is downhill skiing reached by helicopters. The skiing areas are picturesque untouched territories of Kamchatka, the most remote peaks and long descents, which are hard to reach in another way.

 

 

You will go skiing down the slopes of the mountains, as well as to the coast of the Pacific ocean, to the crater of an active volcano and to the wild hot springs

Itinerary

The journey begins in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, where you should travel to on your own. We are ready to help with the purchase of tickets, if necessary, leave a comment on the application.

Day 1 Arrival to Kamchatka

You will be met at the airport and taken to the guest house in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Here you will meet the guides, discuss the program and have lunch.Then you will be get all necessary instructions according the safe behaviour in the mountains and will practice with avalanche equipment. In the evening you will have dinner and rest in comfortable rooms.

Days 2-3 Heli-skiing

Heli-skiing in Kamchatka mountains is waiting for you these days. After breakfast you will be taken to the helipad in Nikolaevka village, from where you will fly to the mountains by Mi-8 helicopter. The skiing area is determined both by the senior guide and the pilot according to the current weather and snow conditions. 

 

At midday you will have lunch outdoors at the foot of the volcano or on the Pacific coast, then you will continue skiing. In the evening you will return to the city, have dinner and relax in the guest house.

Day 4 Free day in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

This day is intended for rest, but in case of bad weather in the previous days, it can be used as a spare day for skiing.

 

Today you can enjoy snowmobiling or dog sledding in the mountains. Also you can try surfing in the Pacific ocean or have some additional program of heli-skiing, backcountry or freeride with snowmobiling. All these options are paid additionally.

Day 5 Arrival to Paratunka

After breakfast you will move to a country lodge with a thermal pool, situated in the Paratunka resort area. Then you will go to the mountains with the Mi-8 helicopter for heli-skiing. You will  stop for lunch on the coast of the Pacific ocean or at the foot of the volcano.

 

After a busy day we invite you to enjoy the relaxing massage, dinner and hot springs under the open sky.

Day 6 Heli-skiing

After breakfast and morning yoga practice the helicopter will take you to the next start point for heli-skiing. The plan for the freeride areas is determined both by a senior guide and a pilot, according to the weather, snow conditions and avalanche danger.

 

In the evening you will come back to the hotel for dinner and relaxation in the thermal pool.

Day 7 Free day

Today you will have a free day and can spend your time as you wish. After breakfast you can do morning exercises or practice yoga.

 

For an additional fee you can go dog sledding, have a snowmobiling tour to Cape Mayachny or try surfing in the Pacific ocean.

 

If you still want to ski in the mountains, you can order an additional program of heli-skiing, ski tour or backcountry.

Day 8 Departure

After breakfast you will go to the airport. On the way you will stop at the fish market and the souvenir shop.

Accommodation during the trip

The cost of the trip includes accommodation in triple rooms in the guest house/hostel of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and in the country hotel of the Paratunka recreation area. If desired and for an additional fee you can choose accommodation in a double/twin room (+40 EURO per person) or in a single room (+500 EURO per person).

 

In Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky you will stay for 4 nights in "Bay House" guest house or "Three skis" hostel:

 

Rooms at "Bay House" guest house offer scenic views of Avacha Bay or the mountains. There are comfortable beds, a wardrobe, a desk and a fridge with free mineral water, a bathroom in each room. Also guests can use a terrace, a lounge with free Wi-Fi, as well as visit a restaurant and a sauna with panoramic views.

 

"Three skis" hostel is located in the heart of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The rooms have a private bathroom, separate beds, a working area with free Wi-Fi, a mini-refrigerator, a wardrobe, bedside tables with individual lamps.


The final three nights of the tour you will spend in "Ideal cube" country hotel, located in the Paratunka recreation area. You will be accommodated in comfortable guest house built in Scandinavian style on the bank of a mountain lake Mikizha. The house has 4 double rooms, a spacious living room with panoramic windows and a kitchen. The rooms have one double or two single beds, as well as a bathroom with a shower. On the spacious terrace there is a small pool with hot thermal water.

Who will be my guide +

During the program, you will be accompanied by professional guides and instructors who will instruct you about avalanche safety, coordinate the process and help if necessary. 

 

A professional photographer will also join you for 3 days of the tour. After the trip you will receive a report with quality photos or videos.
 

Meals +

The program includes breakfast and dinner at the guest house in the city and in the country hotel, as well as a light snack on the routes and one lunch on the day of arrival. For the rest of the days you will need to pay extra for lunch.

Insurance +

Insurance is mandatory. It is not included in the price of the tour, but we can help you with registration, if necessary, leave a comment on the application.

Extra flight hours +

Extra flight time is calculated de facto – 450 EURO per hour (pricing is per minute).

The group makes a common decision about prolonging the heli-ski activity. The refund for the unused flight time is 375 EURO per hour (pricing is per minute).
