Excursion tour to Bashkortostan

Day 1 Transfer to Kaga village

After meeting the group in Ufa, you will drive to Kaga village by bus. The road passes through mountain-forest areas of the Southern Ural; part of the route covers territory of the South Ural Nature Reserve. If the weather allows, you will enjoy wonderful view of the Southern Ural highest mountain — Yaman-Tau.
 

Upon arrival to Kaga, you will have lunch. Then you will go to excursion about history of the ancient Russian village and Ural ironworks. You will visit the Nikolskiy church, that is an architectural monument of the end of the 19th century. In the evening, you will be accommodated in Starosubkhangulovo village and have dinner.

Day 2 Visiting of Nature reserves

Today you will explore the territory of Bashkirsky Nature Reserve. From a view point  you will observe breathtaking panorama of the Southern Ural mountain range. 
 

On your way to Shulgan-Tash Nature Reserve, you will visit kumys farm to taste this traditional Bashkir drink; kumys is a fermented dairy product made from mare's milk. You will have lunch enroute. 
 

Shulgan-Tash Nature Reserve was founded for protection of the local population of wild bee, which has been cultivated since ancient times by the local Bashkir people. You will visit the Golden Bee Museum and an existing bee apiary. You will have an opportunity to taste wild bee honey (at additional cost). 

Then you will visit the Kapova Cave which is a unique monument of the paleolithic epoch. In the evening, you will return to the Starosubkhangulovo village and have dinner.

Day 3 Rest on Lake Bannoye

Kaga village is a well-known horse-breeding center in Bashkiria. In the morning, if you wish, and for an additional fee, you can take a horse ride around the area. 

Then you will take part in a workshop of creating traditional souvenirs. In the afternoon you will go to the Bannoye Lake whichis considered to be the deepest one at the Republic of Bashkortostan. In the evening you will be accommodated in a hotel. You can have dinner in the hotel cafe at additional cost.

Day 4 Lake Talkas and Temyasovo village

For the first half of the day, you will enjoy leisure time on the Bannoye Lake. If you wish for an additional fee, you can climb to the observation deck, visit the nursery "White Doctor" or the Museum of Military Glory and taste honey in a honey shop.
 

In the afternoon you will move to the Talkas Lake. On the way you will stop at a kumys farm as well as visit the site where jasper rock outcrops can be observed. You will also visit the first Bashkirian capital — Temyasovo village. In Temyasovo you will have an excursion to a historical-cultural centre. If you wish, you can also visit the museum of local history and private cheese factory at additional cost. 

On Lake Talkas you relax on the beach, take a swim or go for hiking along the slope of the Irendyk ridge. Then you will move to Sibai city and check in to a hotel. You can have dinner in the hotel cafe at additional cost.

Day 5 Arkaim Historical and Cultural Reserve

Today you will visit the Arkaim State Historical&Cultural Reserve . On the way to the reserve, you will cross the Ural River — the water border between Europe and Asia. 

In Arkaim you will have an excursion to the Museum of Nature and Man, during which you will learn about the reserve and history of ancient settlement Arkaim and see archaeological finds.
 

You can have lunch on the territory of the reserve at additional cost, have a walk around, and then return to the hotel in Sibay. You can have dinner in the hotel cafe at additional cost.

Day 6 “Copper capital” of Bashkiria

After breakfast you will visit the Sibai Local History Museum and the Sibai quarry (if visit to the site is allowed on that day). The Sibai quarry is the deepest one in Europe having a depth of 500 m and 2 km in diameter. 
 

In the afternoon, you will go to the Muradymovskoye Gorge National Park located in the Kugarchinski Region. The region is famous with its fantastic canyons and caves. 
 

In the evening you will stay at the hotel on the national park territory and have dinner.

Day 7 Muradymovskoye Gorge

This day exploration of the Muradymovskoye Gorge National Park is waiting for you. You will enjoy gorgeous views of mountain chains and cliffs breaking steeply above the Bolshoi Ik river. 

The park has the largest number of caves throughout the Southern Urals. If you wish, you can visit some of them for an additional fee (about 5 EURO pp).

In the afternoon, you will move to the Yumaguzinskoye water reserve, settle in a tourist camp and have dinner.

Day 8 Rest on Nugushskoye water reserve

After breakfast you will go to the Bashkiriya National Park. The park is located in a picturesque area on the western spurs of the Southern Urals, between the rivers Nugush and Belaya (Russian for White). 

You will spend the day relaxing on the Nugushskoye water reserve. The lake is surrounded by magnificent sceneries of forests and mountains. If you wish, you can go for a boat excursion after lunch (extra charge about 20 EURO pp). By evening you will return to the camp site and have dinner.

Day 9 Shikhany mountains

 After breakfast  you will go to the Voskresenskoye village to visit the local art gallery. 
 

Then you will move to the Shikhany village camp base and have lunch. In the afternoon you will have trekking to the top of one of the mountain of the Shikhany rock massif. It consists of four separate mountains, stretching along the right bank of the Belaya river: Tora-tau, Shakh-tau, Yurak-tau and Kush-tau. 

The Shikhany mountains are considered to be the unique nature monument, formed from ancient coral reefs remains. The reefs existed in the Devonian period 300 millions years ago. Today you can still find corals, sponges, the echinoderms and seaweeds of that period. 
 

The route length — 150 km by car, 5-7 km on foot.

Day 10 Return to Ufa

You will go to the Gafuriyski Region and have an excursion to the Krasnousolskiy resort where you will visit Tabynskaya church and the holly springs. 
 

The uniqueness of the Krasnousolskiy resort is in about 250 mineral springs that are located in an area of 15 ga. If you wish, you can take a bath in basins or visit the resort SPA at additional cost

After lunch at the resort you will travel to Ufa by bus. Approximate time of arrival in Ufa is 7 pm. The bus will bring you to the starting point of the program. This is also the finishing point of the trip.
