Experiences you'll have
This program is designed for travelers who prefer a leisurely pace with easy routes, delicious food, and the opportunity to relax by the pool. This tour is also suitable for families with children aged 10 and over.
In one week, you will visit all the must-see spots of Kamchatka that you've likely seen on social media and travel blogs. You will explore the fumarole fields of the Mutnovsky volcano valley. You will ascend a low mountain near the Avachinsky volcano — with an elevation gain of no more than 250 meters, so no special physical preparation is required. You will also enjoy a boat trip that will introduce you to the nature and inhabitants of the Avacha Bay waters.
Price for the tour depends on the number of English-spealing tourists in the group. For details, please contact our managers.
We also accept requests for private tours.
Itinerary
The journey begins in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, which you need to reach independently on the first day of the program.
Please note: The sequence of the route may change.
Day 1 Arrival in Kamchatka
Upon arrival at the airport, a driver will meet you and transfer you to the hotel complex located in the Paratunka resort area.
Check-in at the hotel is available after 3:00 PM. If you arrive early, you can leave your luggage at the hotel reception, have lunch at one of the complex's restaurants, or visit the swimming pool.
Day 2 Boat trip and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky city tour
After an early breakfast (a packed lunch may be provided), you will depart to the seaport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky (travel time is about one hour).
Ahead is a 5-hour boat trip. You will see the Three Brothers Rocks and Starichkov Island. Along the way, you will observe seabirds such as tufted puffins, common murres, and cormorants. If it's low tide, you might spot spotted seals (largha seals) resting on the exposed rocks. If you wish, you can do some fishing.
During the trip, the chef will prepare lunch for you, serving fish soup, assorted cold cuts, sandwiches, tea, or coffee. After lunch, you will enjoy a tasting of freshly boiled snow crab.
If desired and for an additional fee, you can replace the 5-hour boat trip to Starichkov Island with a 10-hour boat trip to Russkaya Bay.
After the boat trip, you will go on a sightseeing tour of the Kamchatka capital: visit the local history museum, go up to a viewpoint, and walk through the city's historical center.
After the excursion, you will have dinner at a café, where you will be served a platter of local products.
Day 3 Dachnye Springs
After breakfast, you will head to the Southern Volcano Group.
The route starts from the Vilyuchinsky Pass, which offers a view of the volcano of the same name. If the weather is clear, you can take photos of the surrounding panoramas as a memento.
The next stop is the Mutnovskaya Geothermal Power Station (40 minutes from the pass). From the station, a 2-kilometer hike begins to the Dachnye Springs at the foot of the Mutnovsky Volcano.
After the trek, you will have a picnic with hot tea. If weather conditions are good and the trail is safe, a visit to the Snow Leopard (Snezhny Bars) Waterfall is planned. For this, you need to return to the starting point of the route (30 minutes walk) and hike for about an hour.
Upon returning to the hotel, you will have dinner (for an additional fee).
For tours departing on June 18, 25, and July 2, due to impassable roads to Dachnye Springs, an excursion to Vilyuchinsky Waterfall and the pass of the same name will be conducted instead.
Day 4 Rafting on the Bystraya River and hot springs
After breakfast (in case of an early departure, the hotel restaurant will provide a snack for breakfast), you will head north to the Bystraya River (travel time is about 2 hours).
After a safety briefing, you will begin the rafting trip on an inflatable raft. It will last about 3 hours; the guide will steer the raft, allowing you to relax and fish. If you're lucky, you might see bears during the trip, as they hunt for spawning fish.
This will be followed by a hot lunch on the riverbank and a transfer to the area near the village of Malki, where wild open-air hot springs are located. You can take a dip in them if you wish.
In the evening, you will return to the hotel and have dinner on your own.
Day 5 Trekking near Avachinsky Volcano
After breakfast, you will travel in an all-terrain vehicle along the bed of the Sukhaya River to the active Avachinsky and Koryaksky volcanoes, reaching the Avachinsky Pass (2 hours). You will ascend Camel Mountain with a relative height of about 250 meters and walk along the spurs of the volcanoes.
Camel Mountain is a volcanic dome at the foot of Avachinsky and Koryaksky volcanoes. This natural monument got its name from its shape, which resembles two camel humps. From the top of the mountain, a magnificent view opens up of Avachinsky and Koryaksky volcanoes, as well as the famous Nalychevo Valley.
After the walk, you will have lunch at a mountain lodge and begin your return journey.
In the afternoon, you will return to the hotel. You can have dinner at the hotel restaurant (for an additional fee).
Day 6 Free Day
You can spend this day as you wish: relax at the hotel, explore Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, or book optional excursions for an extra fee. For example, you can go on a horseback riding trip or visit an ethnic center.
In good weather and with a formed group, we recommend taking a helicopter tour (for an additional fee). Depending on the chosen route, you can observe bears at Kuril Lake, land in the caldera of the ancient Ksudach volcano, and have a picnic lunch at the Khodutkinsky hot springs followed by a swim. Alternatively, you can visit the famous Valley of Geysers, walk through the giant Uzon caldera, and bathe in the hot springs of the Nalychevo Valley.
Please check the "Common questions" section for the cost of additional excursions.
Day 7 Khalaktyrsky Beach
In the morning, after breakfast at the hotel, you will go to Khalaktyrsky Beach. This is a 50-kilometer stretch of Pacific Ocean coastline covered with black volcanic sand. From here, you can see a panoramic view of Kamchatka's "home" volcanoes — Koryaksky, Avachinsky, and Kozelsky.
After the walk on the beach, you will go to one of the city's restaurants for lunch. Then, you will be taken to a market and souvenir shops.
By evening, you will return to the hotel, have dinner on your own, and rest.
Day 8 Departure
After breakfast, you will be taken to the fish market. You can buy red fish, caviar, and crabs. Then, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home.
Hotel check-out is until 12:00 PM.
