Day 1 Welcome to Ufa

Your "Bashkirian Wonders" journey begins with a meeting with your guide and a deep dive into the rich heritage of the capital, Ufa. Your exploration starts with a guided tour that includes a visit to the National Museum of the Republic of Bashkortostan, home to over 190,000 exhibits showcasing the region's nature, history, and diverse cultures. You will view the Monument to the legendary Bashkir hero M.M. Shaimuratov, take a stroll through the Avenue of Modern Art, and visit the historic First Cathedral Mosque, one of Russia's oldest and the seat of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia.

After a lunch featuring authentic Bashkir cuisine, you will embark on a comprehensive city sightseeing tour. Discover Ufa's main highlights, including Salavat Yulaev Square, the Friendship Monument, the beautiful gardens named after Salavat Yulaev and S.T. Aksakov, and the iconic Akbuzat Hippodrome. The route also features the Nativity of the Holy Theotokos Church and the stunning Lyalya-Tulpan Mosque with its unique tulip-shaped minarets.

The day includes a special stop at Ufa's main market, a vibrant place brimming with local produce, where you can purchase famous Bashkir honey, kumis, horse sausage, and other souvenirs.

In the evening, you will return to your hotel for rest.

Day 2 Shikhan Toratau and Sufiya Mosque – a journey through time and faith

On the second day of your journey, you will leave Ufa and venture into the heart of Bashkortostan's natural and spiritual wonders. Your destination is the iconic shikhan Toratau, a state-protected archaeological and geological monument listed in the global "GEOSITES" heritage registry and a finalist in the "Seven Wonders of Russia" project. This ancient reef complex, a true symbol of the region you won't find anywhere else, is a 285-million-year-old fossil from the Permian Sea coast, now home to fossilized mollusks, algae, and corals.

A specially equipped staircase leads you to the summit (402 meters above sea level), protecting the unique endemic plants and making the ascent comfortable. Your effort is rewarded with a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view, often shared with paragliders gracefully riding the winds.

Following this natural marvel, you will visit the exquisite Sufiya Mosque, often called the "Little Taj Mahal of Bashkiria." This architectural gem is adorned with two-colored Ural marble, Italian mosaics, Czech crystal chandeliers, and elegant Persian carpets, creating an atmosphere of serene beauty.

The day also includes a visit to a traditional yurt complex, where you can immerse yourself in local customs and purchase authentic souvenirs, before enjoying a hot lunch. In the evening, you will return to Ufa, filled with unforgettable impressions.

Day 3 The Red Spring, Red Cliffs and Holy Monasteries

On the third day, your journey continues from Ufa to some of the most powerful natural and spiritual sites in the region. Your first stop is the serene and beautifully landscaped territory of the Assumption St. George Monastery, also known as "Svyatye Kustiki" (The Holy Bushes). This male monastery is renowned for its peaceful atmosphere, striking architecture, and vibrant flower gardens, offering a moment of quiet contemplation.

Next, you will be treated to breathtaking views from the observation platform at the Red Cliffs. From this vantage point, you can gaze upon the dramatic canyon of the Ufimka River and the stunning surrounding landscapes. The journey then continues to the engineering marvel of the Pavlovskaya Hydroelectric Power Plant and the vast, picturesque Pavlovsk Reservoir.

A key highlight of the day is a visit to Krasny Klyuch (The Red Spring), the largest source of drinking water in Russia and one of the most powerful in all of Europe. Witness the immense, crystal-clear water flow emerging from the base of the mountain — a truly impressive natural phenomenon.

After a day filled with wonder, you will return to Ufa in the evening.

Day 4 Yangan-Tau Geopark, the Kurgazak Spring and the Salavat Yulaev Museum

On the fourth day, your journey from Ufa leads you to a UNESCO-listed geological heritage site – the Yangan-Tau Geopark. The area is famous for its unique Mount Yangan-Tau ("Burning Mountain"), a natural phenomenon where hot steam rises from fissures near its summit in any weather. Accompanied by a specialized geo-guide, you will explore the heart of the geopark on a walking tour titled "The Heart of the Geopark." This includes visiting the iconic Kurgazak Spring, a unique warm karst spring with water consistently at 16°C, known for its mineral composition and healing properties. You will also see the geopark's visitor center, an old water mill, and a suspension bridge over the Yuryuzan River.

The geological immersion continues with the "Permian Period" excursion to the Mechetlino section, where you'll learn about the site's global significance. The day also delves into the national heritage of Bashkortostan with a visit to a local Bashkir mosque and the Salavat Yulaev Museum, housed in a building shaped like a traditional Bashkir yurt. Here, you'll discover collections dedicated to the life, traditions, and heroic history of the Bashkir people.

After a full day of exploration, you will return to Ufa in the evening.

Day 5 Sacred Mount Narystau, the Holy Spring and the Eurasian Museum of Nomadic Civilizations

Your final day of discovery begins with a journey from Ufa to a site of profound spiritual significance. You will first visit the Eurasian Museum of Nomadic Civilizations, where you will delve into the rich history of the Bashkir people and understand why this region holds such deep meaning for nomadic cultures. The museum provides essential context about the historical figures of Khusain-bek and Tura-khan.

The heart of the day is a visit to sacred Mount Narystu, a revered pilgrimage site. At its summit rest two companions of the Prophet Muhammad, and at its foot flows the Holy Spring Izge Gali, which miraculously never freezes. Here, you will ascend the mountain, admire the beautiful monument and the Sahaba Mosque, and draw water from the sacred spring. You can make a wish, wash your face, and, if you wish, take a dip in the waters to recharge your health and energy.

After a day of powerful spiritual and historical immersion, you will return to Ufa in the evening, around 20:00, concluding your "Bashkirian Wonders" tour.

We can drive you to the airport for the evening flight home or you can book an additional night in the hotel in Ufa.
