You will be surrounded by majestic mountains, alpine valleys, thousand-year boxwood groves and ferns. The locals will tell you stories of the Adygea’s hermits and ancients.
Itinerary
The journey begins in Krasnodar, where you should get to on your own. We are ready to help you to purchase tickets. If necessary, leave a comment on the application.
For your comfort, we provide a group transfer from the Krasnodar airport to a tourist base (see details in "Common questions" section). To use this option, you should arrive before 3 pm on the first day. Plan your departure after 3 pm on the final day of the trip.
Day 1 Arrival to the tourist base
In the afternoon you will check in to a tourist base, meet your guides and have dinner. In the evening you can visit a banya (Russian sauna) and prepare grilled meat (paid additionally).
Day 2 Canyoning in the Mishoko River gorge
After breakfast you will be taken to the Khadzhokhskaya gorge – the starting point of the route. The gorge is a picturesque narrow canyon, through which the Belaya (Rus/ for "White") river goes to a valley.
During a walk to the Chernyi shum (Rus. for "Black roar") river beach, a guide will tell you about mountain river canyon. On calcareous canyon’s walls you will see many niches washed out by the strong stream. It looks so spectacular!
Then you will move to the Mishoko river canyon. Here you can find caves, cliffs, waterfalls, points with panoramic views and even the ancients’ settlement site. You will follow along the river bed and stone terraces and go canyoning through breathtaking waterfalls using special equipment.
After that you will return to the base and have lunch. After lunch, be ready for another adventure – rock climbing. Guides will teach you the basic elements of rock climbing. The route passes on the specially prepared cliffs from 10 to 25 meters high. You will learn basis of free climbing and rappel. In the evening you will come back to the tourist base and have dinner.
Day 3 Rafting and the Granitnyi canyon
Today you will go rafting along the Belaya river. The route starts above a rapid called "Kishi-2", where the Kisha river flows into the Belaya river. This is the 4th degree difficulty rapid, however it is not difficult to pass in low tide season. Near Khamyshki village, you will see beautiful waterfalls flowing into the river.
After rafting you will walk along the Granitnyi canyon. You will make stops to take wonderful panoramic views, close to the narrow places where the river is gripped into a granite vise. In the evening you will return to the tourist base and have dinner.
Day 4 Off road jeeping to Chinarskyi and Monakhova waterfalls
You will drive to Chinarskyi and Universitetskiy waterfalls by 4 WD off road vehicle. On the way, you will cross a fir-tree forest. You will see the ancient castle ruins preserved above the canyon.
You will pass Starorusskiy (Rus. for "Old Russian") khutor and reach Mezmay village. On a cliff face, dominating the village, there is a natural niche right of a man size; from here you can enjoy scenic views of the Kurdzhips river, a narrow gauge railway and the Guamskoye gorge.
The way back will go through the off-road mountain terrain. You will have dinner in the tourist base.
Day 5 Trekking in the Caucasus Nature Reserve
In the morning you will get instructions and start 2-day trekking in the Caucasus Nature Reserve. On the way to an Alpine shelter, you will be enjoying wild nature, subalpine meadows, and snowy peaks of Oshten and Fisht Mounts.
While trekking on mountain trails, you will carry a backpack with personal belongings, food, water and a sleeping bag. Upon arrival to the shelter, you will cook dinner together with guides and have a rest, preparing to the next day mountain climbing.
Day 6 Climbing Oshten Mount
Today you will climb Oshten Mount (2,804 m high), offering a stunning panorama of Fisht and Pshekho-su cliffs, plateau Colorado glaciers and icy peaks of the Caucasus mountain ridge. Then you will descent to the Alpine shelter, have a rest and then take a way back to the tourist base.
Day 7 Canyoning in the Rufabgo river gorge
After breakfast you will move to the Rufabgo river gorge by GAS-66 off-road vehicle. The gorge is an ancient tectonic fault with steep slopes, stone terraces, grottos and sheer rocky walls up to 150 meters high. The gorge slopes are covered by beechwood forest; trees and rocks are embraced by Hedera colchica bunches.
While canyoning, you will pass seven waterfalls on the Rufabgo river: Shnurok (Rus. for "Cord"), Devichiye kosy (Rus. for "Girl’s hair plait"), Chasha lyubvi (Rus. for "Love bowl"), Serdtse Rugabgo (Rus. for "Rufabgo heart"), Kaskadnyi (Rus. for "Cascade") and Shum (Rus. for "Roar"). Four of them you will pass using a special equipment. In the evening you will return to the base, have dinner and rest.
Day 8 Departure
After breakfast you will be taken to the Krasnodat airport.
Accommodation during the trip
During this journey you will live in comfortable cottages of "Zelyonyi Gai" (Russian for "Green forest") tourist base. The cottages perfectly match a forest landscape of the Azishskiy Mountain Range.
Rooms with private entrances are located on the first and second floors. They are trimmed by natural wood. There are WC, beds, a wardrobe, a table, and TV in a room. First floor rooms have large indoor veranda with a barbeque nearby. Guests are welcome to use a kitchen equipped with all necessary utensil, as well as parking, a banya (Russian sauna) and a cafe at the base territory.
On Day 5 you will stay at Alpine mountain shelter, located at the territory of the Caucasus Nature Reserve.
Common questions
For your comfort, we provide group transfer from the Krasnodar airport to a tourist base and back (3 hours in one direction). Price is 25 EURO per person .
To use the transfer option you should arrive before 3 pm on Day 1. Plan your departure after 3 pm on the last day of the trip.
The price includes three meals a day, besides breakfast and lunch on Day 1. Breakfast and dinner will be served in the tourist base cafe, for lunch during the program activities ready-to-eat meal will be offered.
For children under 14 years old, we offer 10% discount.
