Journey to Kamchatka in summer 2019

Just for 8 days you will visit so many unique places in Kamchatka, including the active volcanoes Avachinskiy, Koryak, Mutnovskiy, Gorely, which are considered to ne the most beautiful volcanoes of the whole peninsula. Take a boat trip on Avachinskaya Bay and the Pacific Ocean, observing the biggest Kamchatka nesting seabirds.

This tour is for those who are used to comfort and not ready for an overnight stay in tents. Every day you will return to a comfortable hotel room.

During the tour, you will be able to swim a few times in the natural hot springs and pools with thermal waters. And if you want to get more impressions, you could go to the amazing and unique Geysers valley by helicopter or observe the bears' life on Kuril lake.

 

The tour is guaranteed to be organized on all announced dates. It is possible to join only for a part of the tour with an individual program.

Itinerary

The journey begins with a meeting at the airport of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, which you must travel to on your own. We can help with the purchase of tickets. If necessary, leave a comment on the application.

Day 1 Arrival to Kamchatka

After meeting at the airport you will move to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, where you will accomodate in the hotel and rest. Then you will have a trip to Paratunka, wthere you can swim in a pool with the thermal water. 

Day 2 Valley of Geysers or panoramic views of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

On this day it is possible to go on a helicopter excursion to Geyser Valley and Uzon Caldera. Walking excursion around Geyser Valley. Lunch is at Geyser Valley. 

 

There are more than 20 big geysers in the valley, including Velican (Giant), Zhemchuzhny (Pearly), Sakharny (Sugary), Troinoi (Triple), Konus (Cone), Fontan (Fountain), Maly (Small), Bolshoy (Big), Shchel (Split). There are geysers that gush forth every 10-12 minutes, while others may erupt once in 4-5 hours.

 

For those who will not go to the Geyser Valley, we will make trip to observation points, a museum and historical sights. Optionally, you can make an excursion to an ethnic settlement.

Day 3 A walk along the spurs of volcanoes

Today you will have an off-road trip to the high plateau, located between Avachinsky and Koryaksky volcanoes. You will be walking for 2-3-hours along the volcanic spurs. You will climb the Camel mountain, take beautiful photos of the mountainous landscapes, admire the mountain flowers and see the colonies of gophers.

Day 4 Sighseeing in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and the Black beach

After breakfast you will have a city tour. You will visit the viewing points, get acquainted with the history of Kamchatka in the local museum and visit the fish market. 

 

After lunch in a cafe, you will go to the Pacific coast. Visit the famous Halaktyr beach with black volcanic sand. 

 

Then you will go for a swim in the healing hydrogen sulfide waters of the spring named Zelenovskie Ozerki. After they you will take part in the tea ceremony, held by a local shaman. You will taste Kamchatka wild plants, traditional teas and tinctures, listen to the harp and guitar.

 

Farmer's dinner is waiting for you in the evening, after that you will return to the city and relax in the hotel.

Day 5 Mutnovsky volcano and small Valley of Geysers

By car you will get through the plateau of volcanoes Vilyuchinsky and Gorely to the foot of Mutnovsky volcano. You will enjoy a guided walk to the Suburban hot springs, called «Small geysers valley».

 

On the way, you can visit the upper Paratun hot springs and the Vilyuchinsky waterfall. After excursion you will return to the hotel in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

Day 6 Boat trip

Today you will enjoy a boat trip to the Avacha Bay. You will see sea bird rookeries on Babushkin Kamen (Old Woman’s Stone) Island and Tri Brata (Three Brothers) Island. Go out to the Pacific ocean tup to Starichkov Island, where you will watch the largest sea bird rookery in Kamchatka (including the Steller's eagle).

 

After that you will go sea fishing and have a red fish for lunch. You will return to the hotel in the evening.

Day 7 Malkinskie hot springs or Kuril lake

On this day, you can take a helicopter tour to the Kuril lake to observe the bears (optional and at an additional cost). 

 

If you do not fly to the lake, you can have a trip to the Malkinskie hot springs. You will swim in their healing waters, and then return to the city.

Day 8 Homecoming

After breakfast you will visit the fish market and buy souvenirs. Then you will go to the airport.

Yes, the program of the tour starting at June, 23 can be slightly changed taking into account the weather conditions. This time there is a lot of snow in the mountains, which makes difficult travelling to some places.
