Experiences you'll have

Snowmobile tour in Karelia

In 3 days you will travel 370 km on snowmobiles through snowy forest trails and frozen lakes. On your way you will make several stops in cozy old Karelian villages, where you will taste local foods and learn about the culture of this northern land.

Itinerary: Petrozavodsk — Ethnic village Kinerma — Monastery — Lodeynoe Pole

Itinerary

The journey begins in Russian Petrozavodsk, which you must travel to on your own. Note: a return ticket must be taken from the station Lodeynoye Pole. We are ready to assist with the purchase of tickets. If necessary, leave a comment in the order.

Day 1 Lake Onego

110 km snowmobiling

Arrive by train to Petrozavodsk (09:00). Meet & greet at the railway station. Here you try on your equipment and enjoy your safety-briefing. If you are a beginner, you can also learn some snowmobile moves!

Your journey starts on the bank of Onego Lake, one of the two biggest lakes in Karelia. The road goes through 4 icy lakes and peaceful white forests. After the long day, you will definitely enjoy Russian-style banya and a hot dinner. (full board)

Day 2 Ancient village Kinerma

160 km snowmobiling

Check-out from the hotel. For dinner we stop in the ancient village of Kinerma (16th century), famous for its northern wooden architecture. There we taste local specialties in the old museum house, with traditional pies and tea. Local pies called "kalitka" are made of rye flour and various filling; jam and honey are also very typical on the table.

Then we continue the ride, and our day ends in the village of Umostu, where you will finally get to rest in front of the fireplace. Russian banya will be at your service, and for courageous souls there's always a snow drift nearby to plunge into after. (full board)

Day 3 Lake Ladoga

100-120 km snowmobiling

After breakfast we leave for a round trip towards Ladoga Lake. On the way we can't miss the monastery, where we will have a short, but pleasant excursion. The next point is Ladoga Lake, a lake of tectonic and glacial origin, the second biggest lake in Russia after Baikal. On the banks of Ladoga Lake there are many sandy dunes, covered by snow, perfect for free driving.

Get back to Umostu for dinner and have some rest before your departure to the railway station. At 19:40 we say farewell and have the last goodbye drive through magic karelian forests (100 km). (full board)
