The Tuchma river takes its source in the Land of the Northern Mountains, beyond the Polar Circle, and carries its fast silvery waters through tundra, hills, and taiga forests. Your small group will need to become a real team to overcome its powerful rapids! But the travelers will be awarded by the dynamic change of impressions, austere beauty of the Russian North, excellent angling, and a special charm of a short northern summer…

Day 1
Arrival in Kandalaksha by train* (06.20 from Moscow and 6.20/15.30 from St Petersburg). Meeting at the railway station, transfer to Alakurtti village (100 km). Safety briefing, getting equipped, training. Lunch
Start the whitewater rafting adventure and enjoy 3 hours of the first rafting impressions till Vodopadny rapid. The rapids Pervenets and Padun (III category) is first studied from the shore. Setting a tent camp. Dinner cooked over the fire, overnight in tents.
Day 2
Breakfast. Continue whitewater rafting from Vodopadny rapid down to Yuryev den’ rapid through 4 rapids in total (including III category Krivoy). Lunch, dinner, overnight in tents under the starry sky
Day 3
Breakfast. Start the intensive day and go to Yama Rapid passing through 9 rapids! Two rapids – Beautiful and Yama are specially challenging (III category). Rafting down to Kotyol rapid. Lunch, dinner, overnight in tents
Day 4
A deserved day of relaxation next to Yama rapid. Enjoy the beauty of the northern nature on your own, try angling or mushroom/berry picking or just walking in the forest. Not to lose the acquired skills, train on the rapid (III category). “Tourist sauna” on the river shore. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, overnight in tents
Day 5
Breakfast. Upon request of the participants, a radial trip to the Kutsayoki river is possible for passing through Vodopadny rapid (IV category). Continue till Karniz rapid.

Day 6
Breakfast. Start the day by going through Karniz rapid (III cat.) and continue through 3 rapids more incl Shlyapa rapid (III cat.). Lunch, dinner, overnight in tents
Day 7
Breakfast. Time at leisure. Lunch. A motor-boat ride through Yovsky water reservoir to Zarechensk village (45 km). Transfer to Kandalaksha by car (90 km) and departure by night train to Moscow or St Petersburg (at 00.40).
*Time on train one-way: from St Petersburg 21-22 hrs, from Moscow 29 hrs.
The daily distance might slightly variate due to water level.
Attention: the decision about going through the rapids of III category or their by-passing is taken by the instructor on the spot depending on the water level and the skills of the participants.
