It’s a tour for those who want to get the skill of leading the dog sledge, who is looking for real adventures and who isn’t afraid of difficulties. Generally speaking, this is a tour for real men!
From the beginning you may have some problems such as falling down from the sledge, sudden dogs start instead of your order to stop. But during the trip you will learn to lead the dog sledge as a real dog driver!
Day 1
Arrival to Irkutsk. Meeting at the airport or at the railway station. Transfer to Listvyanka settlement that is situated 65 km from Irkutsk on Baikal lake shore near the mouth of the river Angara. Accommodation in “Baikalskie Terema” hotel. Free time. After dinner we invite you to visit the Riding Sport Center that is situated not far from our hotel. Meeting with instructors. You can see the most interesting sights of the settlement in the evening - the museum of Baikal lake, the St. Nicolas church, or you can just take a walk on the Pistvyanka embankment Supper for additional payment. Night at the hotel.
Day 2
Breakfast, preparations in the Riding Sport Center. Packing expedition load on the sledge. Going out on the ice of Baikal lake. Start of the sledge dogs safari. Lunch box on the route with hot tea from the thermos. After the rest the route will go to the eastern shore of Baikal in the direction of the station Tanhoy. As we approach the Eastern part of Baikal the snow cover increases, and it is difficult for dogs to draw the sledge. The speed is falling down; nevertheless we will come to the station Tanhoy before night sets in. Setting up a camp for dogs on the outskirts of the village. Supper and spending a night in the tourists center of the Baikal nature reserve. Day crossing is 43 km long.
Day 3
Breakfast in the center. Returning to the “dog camp”. Preparations. We continue to go across the Eastern shore of Baikal up to the station Vidrino. Lunch box on the route with hot tea from the thermos. The route ends in the mouth of the river Snezhnaya. Supper and spending a night in a comfortable tourist center. Sauna for additional payment. Day crossing is 42 km long.
Day 4
Breakfast. Preparations. Going out from the mouth of the river Snezhnaya in the direction of the Western shore of Baikal lake; crossing Baikal lake for the second time in the direction of the station Shumiha, that is situated on the legendary Around Baikal Railway. Lunch box on the ice of the lake. We set up a camp on arrival to Shumiha, and cook all together for us and for dogs. Night in the tourist center (not very comfortable).
Day 5
Last day of the trip. Day crossing is 30 km long, so you have a chance to see the sights of the Around Baikal Rail Way in the morning. Dinner. Start in the direction of Listvyanka. Accommodation in Listvyanka. Sauna. Banquette in the restaurant of the hotel. Night in the hotel.
Day 6
Breakfast. Transfer to Irkutsk.
