Tour: Kamchatka for Adventurers

Extraordinary impressions – only for true adventurers in the most active tour to winter Kamchatka! You will learn the art of dog team mushing at the foothills of the grandiose Avachinsky volcano, you will snowmobile in the endless spaces of Kamchatka to the the spectacular volcanoes Koryaksky, Aag, Arik, Dzendzur. You will go skiing down the hills where the Olympic team of Russia is trained, and will walk along the shore of the majestic Pacific ocean….


 

Day 1 – City and eared seals
Arrive in Petropalovsk-Kamchatski in the afternoon. Meeting at the airport by the local activity instructor (very basic English), transfer to the city (25 km). Check-in at the hotel.
Go to the sea pier Mokhovoy to watch the eared seals (or sea lions) who favour this site and have been staying on these shores from year to year from November till April.
In the evening, have a trip to Paratunka located next to the city to relax in the swimming pool of Kamchatkan thermal water.
Night in the hotel in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski (double-basis).
 
Day 2 – Dog sledding 
Today a full-day (6 hrs) trip by dog sleds to the foothills of the magnificent Avachinski volcano awaits us.
After breakfast, transfer out of city to Kamchatkan dog breeding center. Get introduced to dog training and managing the dog sleds by the local staff, listen to interesting stories about the dogs. Learn mushing from a professional local musher, and travel by a dog team (2 persons / dog team of 6-8 dogs) to the foothills of the volcano, which is considered one of the most scenic and active volcanoes of Kamchatka.
Return to the hotel in early evening. Night in the hotel in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski (double-basis).
 
Day 3-5 – Snowmobiling to the volcanoes of the Nalychevo Valley   
Today starts a snowmobiling safari to the volcanoes and hot springs of the picturesque Nalychevo valley. We will make 140 km by snowmobiles in the mountainous area admiring the stunning views over Kamchatkan volcanoes.
Day 3
Snowmobile across the mountain pass between the volcanoes Koryaksky and Avachinsky, along the shoulders of the volcanoes Aag, Arik, Koryaksky to the Nalychevo national park. Dip in the hot springs and relax in the natural baths enjoying the scenic mountainous view around. Accommodation in the national park’s wooden hut.
Day 4
Snowmobile to the Talovskie thermal springs and to the shoulders of Dzendzur volcano. If the weather and snow conditions allow, we will reach the site opening up to the fumaroles field. Returntothenationalparkswoodenhut.
Day 5
Snowmobile over the Koryaksky or Avachinsky mountain pass (depending on the weather and snow conditions), stop on the way at the Aag thermal springs. Return to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski, check-in at the hotel.
 
Day 6 – Downhill skiing          
After breakfast in the hotel, leave by car to the Moroznaya (Frosty) skiing center. At your choice and expense, enjoy excellent downhill skiing / snowboarding / Nordic flatland skiing in the mountains in the vicinity of Petropalovsk-Kamchatski.
In the afternoon, have a trip to Zelenovskie Ozerki to check the quality of the local medicinal springs and have a dip in the hydro-sulphuric thermal waters.
Night in the hotel in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski (double-basis).
 
Day 7 – Shores of the Pacific ocean
Today, we will depart by 4x4 for the Pacific Ocean. Enjoy a walk along the shore of the majestic Pacific. 
In the afternoon, go on the city tour of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski.
Optionally (for an extra fee, booking in advance required), you can visit the institute of volcanology to find out a lot of amazing facts about Kamchatkan volcanoes or have a guided tour of the Local Lore museum that exhibits the richest ethnographic collection in the Far East.
Night in the hotel in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatski (double-basis).
 
Day 8  
After breakfast, visit downtown to buy the best in Russian smoked red fish, caviar and other sea delicacies. Transfer to the airport and departure.
 
The Tour Operator reserves the right to change the order of days or introduce changes to the itinerary due to the weather conditions

You can extend this programme with a 4-days trip to the national settlement Esso (booking in advance, extra charge)
