Currency: Russian Ruble
The exchange rate is fluctuating. The exchange rates approximately are USD 1 is RUB 27 ; EUR 1 = RUB 33,5. USD and EUR bills are usually accepted in denomination of 10 and higher, if in good condition (not marked or torn) and issued after 1990.

ATM: ATMs are located at the airports, in local banks, hotels, shopping centers. There are no ATMs in any remote areas of Russia.

Credit card: Visa, Mastercard, American Express. These can only be used in hotels, shops, and restaurants in the big cities. For adventure travel to remote areas you need to have cash.

Travelers cheques: not recommended, as travelers cheques are not accepted everywhere.
