Yeglov island

Yeglov island is not far from the island of Kizhi. On this island there is Yeglovo village. Architectural composition of the village is unique: several old peasant houses make a row along the shore of the lake. In front of the houses on a tiny island stands Bogoroditsy Vsekh Skorbyaschih Radosti chapel (the Blessed Virgin chapel – Pleasure of the Grieving)(XIX century). The chapel is clearly visible from the windows of every izba.
