Your impression of Kamchatka will be incomplete if you don’t view it from the sea. Avachinsky bay cuts 20 km deep into the mainland – it is one of the most beautiful and convenient sea harbors. You will go by motor-boat near Nikol’sky volcano, Tikhaya bay, Babushkin kamen’ island, Stanitsky cape and legendary rocks that the locals call The Three Brothers – they are situated right at the entrance to the bay. According to the legend, long ago the three rocks were three handsome young men belonging to one of the tribes living on the coast of Avachinsky bay. The locals suffered from tsunami and the brothers decided to protect their people from giant waves. They stood at the entrance to the bay and didn’t allow tsunami to get into the bay. They stand here ever since.
