Vilyuchinsky volcano

To the south-west of PPK, behind Avachinsky bay one can clearly see a regular cone of Vilyuchinsky volcano which is 2176 m high. The volcano is the main adornment of the bay. It is considered extinct although mountaineers climbing to its top smelled gases more than once. The volcano top is covered with barrancoes, but it is not difficult for mountaineering.
