Northern and Southern Tolbachinsky volcano breaks

Are a chain of clinker cones stretching to the south at the bottom of Ploskiy Tolbachik volcano. The volcano breaks got their name in 1975-1976 during Tolbachinsky fracture eruption. The eruption took place not in the volcano but 15 km away from it. During eruption fractures appeared in the ground through which lava, scoria and ashes were erupted. On the places of eruption several scoria cones up to 300 m high appeared. The cones are made of eruption products. The strongest eruption occurred in the three highest cones. This eruption place situated closer to Tolbachik bottom was named the Northern volcano break. Right after the end of eruption in the Northern volcano break, 10 km to the south another eruption center appeared. Here the only one cone sprung up
